35mm Moonraker Trailer

16. January 2014 06:15 by m | 0 Comments

This trailer was captured from one of the actual 35mm film reels that was sent to cinemas around the world in late 1978/early 1979 to promote the film. The color has been restored, but the dirt and scratches have not been cleaned up yet. Personally I quite like the grungy, 'film' look - you can almost hear the projector... [More]

James Bond 007 at the 1982 Academy Awards

15. November 2013 16:41 by m | 0 Comments

The 54th Academy Awards were broadcast on March 29, 1982 and hosted by Johnny Carson. Sheena Easton was among the performers, belting out "For Your Eyes OnlyFor Your Eyes Only" from the film of the same name, which was nominated for Best Original Song, in a most... unusual ... dance number which would not have looked out of place in the Star Wars Holiday Special. Bizarrely camp, with a dancing James Bond (thankfully Roger Moore did not take part), a very uncomfortable looking Richard Kiel as Jaws, and what was probably the last ever appearance of Harold Sakata as Oddjob, It really must be seen to be believed! In 1975, the American TV network ABC confusingly and needlessly re-edited the beginning of You Only Live TwiceYou Only Live Twice. Siskel & Ebert Review The Living Daylights

30. August 2013 05:39 by m | 0 Comments

The Living DaylightsThe Living Daylights was one of my favorite Bond films, arriving shortly before my 13th Birthday. For me it had all the elements from the best James Bond movies: A gadget laden Aston Martin, plenty of action, a beautiful Bond Girl and a plot that was easy to follow and actually made sense (compare to The World Is Not EnoughThe World Is Not Enough).

However, Siskel & Ebert were not so easily impressed... [More]

In this feature-length documentary by James Bond fan Benjamin Lind, we are taken on a journey that spans 30 years - from the humble Atari James Bond Games of the early 1980s to the 2012 version of GoldeneyeGoldeneye. Lind takes us inside each game, allowing us to see what it is like to play each one, describing the good and bad parts of each game and when possible takes us behind the scenes using promotional materials including videos and TV spots. With each passing year, the graphics and game engines improve, but not all of the games get better... [More]
