The insider's intel on 007's upcoming as-yet-untitled latest. (I do hope the John Travolta rumors prove to be false)... Also in the Future 100, Star Wars Episode VII.

It may not have a name yet but Bond 24 has a confirmed release date: 23 October 2015 in the UK, with a US release scheduled for two weeks later on 6 November. Its only competition right now is the Peanuts movie, also due out in North America on 6/11/15.
Sam Mendes will be returning to direct, having initially expressed reluctance to go back behind the viewfinder. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson got their man by giving him time to honour his 2013 theatre commitments, and also to executive-produce Showtime series Penny Dreadful with Skyfall scribe John Logan.
Logan is also back to write the Bond 24 script, which he says will “build on what we did on Skyfall” while being “its own unique animal”. “The themes, ideas and characters can obviously continue,” he elaborated in January. “So I think there’s resonance from Skyfall in the new movie.”
Daniel Craig has also offered a few thoughts on how his fourth Bond outing will play. “Hopefully we’ll reclaim some of the old irony and make sure it doesn’t become pastiche,” he mused last year. “I sometimes wish I hammed it up more, but I just can’t do it very well.”
Pre-production on Bond 24 will begin in earnest in April, with shooting expected to start in October, although Skyfall lenser Roger Deakins won’t be back. With Pinewood busy hosting Star Wars, though, Eon may have to go elsewhere for the first time since 1995’s Goldeneye. Pinewood’s new outpost in Georgia, perhaps?
Then again, they might look closer to home - namely, Ireland. Broccoli and Logan were both extremely complimentary during a visit to Dublin last year, while shooting Penny Dreadful at Ardmore Studios in Wicklow may well have given Mendes ideas. Japan has also been mooted as a potential location.
Japan, of course, was where the literary Bond had his last run-in with Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who could be due a comeback now Eon’s interminable dispute over the rights to the character has finally been resolved. Logan is keeping schtum, merely saying “our villain’s appropriate to the story we’re telling.”
"THERE WILL BE RESONANCE FROM Skyfall IN THE NEW MOVIE"
So who will play Bond’s next nemesis’? Well, John Travolta says he’d be more than happy to accept the part. “They’re going a different way with their villain in this next film,” said the Pulp Fiction star in February, claiming Broccoli “loves the idea” of him in the role.
Ralph Fiennes will be back as M - and that is all the actor will reveal. “I know nothing,” he insisted in December. “I’ve not been told anything. I have no information, no dates, I don’t!”
Ben Whishaw is also due to return as Q, though he’d like the gadget guru to have more to do this time. “Obviously I would like just for him to be in it more!” said the actor last year. “I had a message from John Logan telling me some of the things he’s looking at and it’s really exciting.”
Rory Kinnear has also had some clues from Logan on what Bond 24 may contain. “He gives me snippets, but I know things can change between him writing it and the script being signed off,” says the Broken man, set to make his third appearance as M’s aide Bill Tanner.
Rumours suggest Naomie Harris will get a bigger share of the action as Eve Moneypenny in Bond 24 and that her character will be more 007’s sidekick than Fiennes’ secretary. “I’m looking forward to coming back,” says the Mandela star. NS
Bond 24 will open on 23 October 2015.
